Collett’s is looking for sociable, courteous and engaging individuals or couples with a flair for food to join our small, friendly resort teams running one of our delightful alpine chalets.

Our chalets sleep between 10 and 22 people. We offer breakfast and a three course evening meal six days a week, so our Chalet Hosts get one full day off each week.

The emphasis is on creating a ‘home from home’ atmosphere and providing excellent ‘home cooked food’ with an extra special twist. It goes without saying there is all of the usual domestic management of a place involved, room cleans, changeovers, food ordering etc., and depending on the size of the chalet there is normally regular help provided at breakfast and dinner from other members of the resort team. 

Our season runs from mid May till late September.

This job is very varied and could be entitled many things: Resort Representative – Assistant Manager – Office Assistant! 

Whatever you call it, it is a key role and pivotal to the success of the smooth running of our resort and a friendly and efficient personality is essential. Also essential is a good working knowledge of Italian or German.

Based in the village of Arabba or Corvara, it involves the following and much more: welcoming, registering and settling in new arrivals; liaison with UK Office, local suppliers, landlords, doctors etc.; booking restaurants, Rifugios or Venice hotels for guests; food and laundry ordering and management. There is also a commitment to the domestic running of the resort, helping with some of the cleaning and other domestic chores that may pop up.  

This is a great opportunity to practise your language skills in a friendly and supportive role, helping guests on a day to day basis get the best out of a beautiful area, whilst also enjoying the area with them every other day out in the mountains.



Organised Walks – 

You would also provide support to the organised walking programme, normally timetabled two or three times a week to join or 'organise' a walk. Please see our Walk or Via Ferrata Organiser at www.colletts.co.uk/work information for further details.

We require three Office Assistants - two to be based in Arabba, one in Corvara. The role means you would alternate between an Office-based day and an Outdoor Day.

Experience Required

A good level of spoken and written Italian or German and a keen interest in walking or climbing or general interest in the outdoors. You should be able to express yourself reasonably well. General efficiency and attention to detail, and the willingness to see a job through to its end are essential. 

For the walking some element some experience of walking in the mountains or an interest in outdoor activities generally. A focus on and interest in the well-being and safety of others.

As a Walk or Via Ferrata Organiser you would spend half of your time out on the hill accompanying guests on our ‘Organised Walks or Via Ferratas’. The rest of your time is spent acting as a ‘Host’ and domestic hand, looking after our guests in our chalets, advising and helping them to get the most of their holidays. Every other day you would help with the usual domestic tasks, room cleans and changeovers, serving and washing up at breakfast and dinner etc., in the chalets.

Experience Required

Walk Organisers – Reasonable experience of walking in wilderness or mountainous terrain, confident with map reading and general navigation skills. You need to be relatively fit and confident in mountain terrain and happy to accompany groups of guests on any grade of walk whilst enjoying the day yourself. Outdoor qualifications are a bonus but not essential. 

Via Ferrata Organisers - Reasonable experience of traditional climbing (outdoors up to British grade HVS or 5+ UIAA) in the mountains and good navigation skills using a map in mountainous or wilderness areas. You need to be relatively fit and confident in high level mountain terrain and happy to accompany groups of guests on any grade of Via Ferrata whilst enjoying the day yourself. Outdoor qualifications are a bonus but not essential. 

We offer our guests ‘Organised’ Walks & Via Ferratas five days a week. These are not to be confused with ‘Guided’ Walks. We therefore call ourselves ‘Walk or Via Ferrata Organisers’, not Leaders or Guides. We go to great lengths to clarify to our guests the difference between a Collett’s ‘Organiser’ and a Qualified Mountain Guide.
